Dan’s stories aren’t just great fun for students, they’ll make staff and parents laugh too. Even with 14” blade knives spinning high in the air, Dan’s hilarious and enchanting stories will have audiences hanging on his every word!

Curriculum-Linked Shows and Teacher Resources

Dan’s performances aren’t just fun shows – they’re interactive narratives that engage students in negotiation and socialization skills. After each performance, Dan and his characters review the key message of each story with a light-hearted conversation and Q&A. Then, teachers receive a comprehensive online lesson plan and activity worksheets so they can effortlessly bring the fun and learning back to the classroom. All of Dan’s original stories and lesson plans have been developed with elementary school teachers, principals, and behavioural consultants. Lessons are designed to complement the Ontario Curriculum (grades 1-8) including the 2019 Health & Physical Education Curriculum (which covers the topics of consent, building healthy relationships, and mental health) and provide teachers with an online lesson and worksheets that requires no preparation. 

Experience

Dan has over 20 years of experience working with children and young adults, including persons with disabilities. In his early 20s, he spent one of his most joyous summers as a senior counsellor at an Easter Seals Camp and later continued working with children with development and physical disabilities, as well as at-risk and criminally-involved youth. Dan has performed for all ages of audiences in cities across Ontario. 

Dan is a non-profit consultant and qualifed mediator. When not running around with 14" blad knives and giving voices to puppets, Dan is found training and consulting with local and national non-profits and their leaders. As a seasoned nonprofit leader and qualified mediator, he has a keen focus on strategic planning, conflict management, service design, board & senior leader advising and coaching, and frontline resiliency.
